Pastor Dean, started his full time ministry in Albuquerque, N.M. at Sandia Church of the Nazarene 1987 as a youth pastor. He also served in youth ministry at Phoenix First Church of the Nazarene, Sterling Church of the Nazarene and Columbine Hills Church of the Nazarene in Colorado. He was a youth pastor until August 2002, when he became the Senior Pastor of SonRise Community Fellowship where he still is to date. He was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2000 on the Colorado District.
Pastor Dean's educational background is as follows. He has an AA degree in Religious Ministry from Southwestern College in Phoenix AZ. A Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Ethics and Biblical Studies from William Jessup University in Rocklin Ca. A Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Pastor Dean has a diverse background. He worked for Kaman Industrial Technologies for eight years. Where he held many different positions. (From oil field mechanic, outside sales, finishing his last two years as assistant branch manager in Albuquerque, N.M. He then purchased and operated an auto dismantling yard for the next three years. During that time he accepted God’s call in his life to full time ministry.
He also coached High School Basketball for seventeen years. He was the coach who took over for Coach Sanders who was killed during the Columbine High School tragedy in Littleton Colorado.
